UPDATE - Multi-factor Authentication & Password Security Changes

7/31 UPDATE: The release of multi-factor authentication has been postponed to August 6, 2024, due to some additional tech work that is required. This article has been updated to reflect the updated release information. 

 

Our Authentication Service is undergoing an update to ensure we are in compliance with industry security standards. 

 

Multi-factor Authentication

After the August 6 release, you will be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) when you log into the client portal. Then going forward, when you log into the client portal, your login will be verified using a code sent to the email address you use to log in.  

 

Updated Password Requirements

Additionally there are some updates to the client portal password requirements:

• Passwords expire and must be updated every 90 days 
• Minimum password length: 12 characters
• Previous 4 passwords cannot be reused
• Sessions will time out after 15 minutes of idle time

Changes to Reservation Search Functionality

Due to heightened privacy and security requirements on certain OTA websites, as of August 2024 certain guest identifiers are now encrypted in the VacayHome Connect Client Portal. This means details such as guest name, email address, and phone number will no longer yield results in the general reservation search. These changes were implemented to help protect your guests’ personal data.  

If you need to search for a specific reservation in the Client Portal, we recommend searching by PMS ID (the reservation ID generated by your property management software). You also have the ability to filter and export the reservation list, then search the exported list by guest name.
